La Pavoni was established in 1905 in Milan, Italy, when Desiderio Pavoni purchased the patent from Luigi Bezzera, in 1902. However Desidero Pavoni made his own improvements to the machine, which made the machine more functional for commercial use and saleable and patented it.

This machine was called THE IDEALE. It was the first successful espresso cappuccino machine to be marketed for use in cafes and restaurants around the world. Desiderio Pavoni gave birth to a new era in coffee Caffe´ Espresso. Newer models have been developed over the years and La Pavoni machines have withstood the test of time with a strong reputation for performance and durability.
